OPENING BATTLE

The eye tyrant returns to leads "his" goblin and undead army in an assault near Demons Vale. Only a few doughty (stupid) berserkers,a motley group of heros stand in his way and a few Chaos priests stand in the way of the soft underbelly of the Thardic republic.

DARK EMPIRE WAKES UP

The dark legions of the North are preparing for a Southern Invasion. Bored with the Little Kingdoms and having to separately punish each overlord they have decided to go for bigger fish. LEONIA IMPRISONS

HALFLINGS UNDER NEW LAWS

News has just reached us of a small troop of Haflings who have been imprisoned under some old regulations recently implemented by decree. The decree states that: "Any group containing more than eight (8) persons under the height of 4’ 6" is not to be allowed, unless by prior arrangement as a designated school party. If entering Leonia under the latter rule all such school parties shall have at least one member per eight of a hight over 5’ and capable of signing his or her own name".

We have dispatched a reporter to Kanday and the Halfling shires to find out what they make of this latest developments on the far side of the White Mountains. Initial indications would infer that they are reluctant to speak since Griffins were seen in the air above the Halfling warrens. A reporter has been sent to Khuzan and we await a response to see if the Dwarves will be about march neatly and meekly in pairs like school children. Though it is believed that there has been difficulty for some time in meeting the literary requirement of the law, the dwarves have got round this by proclaiming that their simple scratch marks are in fact a bone fide written language. Leonian passport control has denied this but Dwarven passports are hardly checked at the borders, but the collection boxes are very full !!

HISTORY : THE KINGDOM OF KALDOR

Crown Prince Taffas Pendeus the Dragonslayer, the Duke of Dappar and Overlord of Tashal rules the Principality of Kaldor from his palace in Tashal, the jewel in the crown of Kaldor. He is the younger brother to King Chunel of Melderyn, a sign of the long standing alliance between the two thrones. The royal families of Kaldor and Melderyn were united by the marriage of old King Edram of Melderyn to the Crown Princess Vulcura of Kaldor. The country has retained it's separate status as a principality since then to respect Queen Vulcura's deathbed wish. The borders of the principality are kept secure by the Knights of the order of Rangers of Kaldor, of which Prince is Grandmaster. The Halfling shires nestle within the borders so protected.

MENELOND THREATENED

Sources close to the Dark Empire hierarchy in Kurland have revealed that nations hatred of Elves. Our reporter was able to reveal that a large consignment of Copper nails has been rushed to the front lines to aid in the destruction of the forests around Menelond.

Elven forces at Taralaure are forming into twigs, branches and trees (the traditional formations of the High Elves). Morale appears to be high despite the long period of partying since the elven nation was involved in any real warfare. This correspondent feels that they might be shocked by the brutality of it.
